This modern gite is situated next to the Quenecan forest, and is 4km from the Guerledan lake.
It has 2 bedrooms, furnished to a high standard. There is one room with a double bed, with patio doors leading onto the garden.
The other bedroom has a bunk bed. The bedrooms are on the ground floor. Bed linen, towels etc are included in the price.
All the other rooms are on the first floor, giving excellent views down the valley. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and hand basin. The kitchen has been recently refitted, with plenty of appliances, a microwave, oven, fridge freezer, coffee machine, toaster etc.
There is a table in the kitchen area, with seating for up to 6 people. Steps lead from the kitchen to the south facing garden, with fruit trees at the top, and flower beds and fish pond at the bottom of the garden, with its outdoor dining area, BBQ, etc. The lounge has a TV, plenty of books, a stereo system, a comfy sofa and chairs. Heating is electric throughout, which is included in the price.
There is plenty of garden furniture, so that you can relax in the large garden, and there is an outdoor table tennis table. and a BBQ is provided.
The garden is fully enclosed with 1 metre high fencing. The owner lives in the detached house next door. Ideally situated for country walks, lakeside activities and restaurants. The Nantes Brest canal is excellent for walking,cycling, and fishing is available too.
Pontivy is the nearest town, with its historic buildings, small shops, restaurants, and chateau. The nearest villages are Cleguerec and St Aignan, which provide bars, restaurants, and most commerces.
Dogs are accepted by prior agreement with the owner.
Wifi is available.
The gite is in a rural setting, with restaurants and shops within 5 minutes drive. Ideal for a relaxing holiday, it is also perfect location for exploring. The north and south coast are 1 hour away. There are also small beaches at the lake, with pedaloes, restaurants and water sports.
LANMEUR is a small hamlet 5 minutes from St Aignan village (4.5km) , situated in central Brittany, in Morbihan. St Aignan has a bar with a shop (which also supplies English products), a fish restaurant, a butcher's shop, and an electricity museum.
The large Quenecan forest is situated next to the cottage. It provides an excellent base for walks.
The Nantes -Brest canal passes through St Aignan, for both walks and cycling, and horse riding is available nearby. This is a view by the canal at the Abbey de Bon Repos (7km) ... in august there is an excellent "son et lumiere", and every Sunday morning in summer, there is a market selling local produce and crafts (pictured here.)
The Anse de Sordan (5 mins away) is by the Lac du Guerledan. There is a restaurant/bar/cafe here, with a nice terrace with lovely views over the lake. There are pedalos and canoes for hire in summer. In addition, there is a small man made beach, with unsupervised swimming available.
Cleguerec is about 10 minutes away. There are 2 patisseries (bread/cake shops), a supermarket, a butchers, several garages (repairs), and an unmanned petrol pump at Gamm Vert, a farmers supplies shop. There is also a vets, hair dressers, post office, chemist, 2 banks, florist, chemist, doctors, dentist, estate agents, and a fish van stops outside the supermarket during the week. Also has bars, restaurants and a creperie.
Pontivy (17km) is the nearest town, with a nice range of shops, cafes and restaurants. The town has a castle,and the canal is beautiful for walks and cycling. There is a swimming pool, and an outdoor pool in July and August.
The north and south coast are about an hour away. The north coast has a more rugged coastline, and superb beaches, and the sea is even green -blue at places! The south coast has lots of small bays, and islands, still with lovely beaches and nice seaside villages to visit.
Mur de Bretagne (9km) There are 2 patisseries, a supermarket (with manned petrol pumps during shop hours) , garages (repairs), hair dressers, post office, 2 chemists, bank, florist, doctors, estate agents, tourist info office, jewelers, post office, and a fish van stops outside the supermarket during the week. Also has bars, pizzeria, restaurants (including the Grand Maison, recommended in the Michelin guide) and a creperie. Riding stables nearby. Thematique is an English tea rooms/book shop , with internet access. July/August there is an evening market in the square, which also provides entertainment.
