Chez Amis consists of 2 lovingly restored buildings, the Maison with accommodation for 9 and the Grange with accommodation for 6.
They are situated in the centre of the quiet village of Moustoir Remungol in southern Brittany and are the ideal place for a rural holiday.
The village has a shop for your fresh morning croissants and a bar. A park, with children's play ground, boule pit and exercise routes has just been right built behind Chez Amis.
The river side town of Pontivy can be reached in 10 minutes and the beaches at Carnac and the Gulf of Morbihan are only a 30 - 40 minute drive.
Notre Maison has retained its original beams in the lounge and first floor bedrooms, but has the comfort of gas central heating and double-glazing for winter lets. The garden surrounds the house extending to over half an acre and is mainly lawn.
There is ample parking for 3 cars on the gravel drive.
You can enjoy family meals around the large pine table in the fully equipped country style kitchen, which comes with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave.
A baby's high chair is available.
The adjacent utility room contains a washing machine and separate downstairs toilet.
The main lounge has a granite fireplace with wood burner, comfortable sofas and chairs, digital satellite TV providing BBC1, 2, and free to view channels and a music centre.
The renovation of Notre Grange was completed a couple of years ago.
It has retained the original beams, stone work and features whilst providing a very comfortable interior. Electric central heating and a look a like wood burning stove, together with double glazing are provided for winter lettings.
There is ample parking for 2 cars on the gravel drive.
You enter Notre Grange through French windows into a large Breton style room which includes a fully fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, a fridge, dishwasher and microwave. This leads to the dinning area and then on to the lounge.
The room has retained its original beams and stone work. A double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, containing a washing machine leads off the main room. A baby's high chair is available.
An open wooden stair case leads from the dining area to a balcony and mezzanine above the kitchen.
The lounge area with its comfortable settees, fire, satelitte TV and music centre.
The Local Area
Moustoir Remungol is a small quiet village set in the heart of rural Brittany. The village has its own shop which also acts as the Post Office and supplier of daily bread. There is also the bar "Indian" opposite the church. A newly laid out park, right behind Notre Grange and Maison has a children's play ground, boule pit, exercise machines, picnic tables and pleasant walks for those evening strolls.
Pontivy, formally known as Napoleanville is about 10 minutes drive away. A lovely town with the River Blavey flowing through the middle of it and the Chateau du Rohan at its northerly end. It has a good selection of traditional shops, restaurants and bars, with two large supermarkets, a hospital, and indoor and out swimming pools ; market day is Monday.
St Nicholas des Eaux The local beauty spot is about 15 minutes drive away, situated on the River Blavet it offers a range of activities including a river cruise, pedaloes, and canoes to hire, fishing, cycling and riverside walks along the scenic towpath. There are a couple of restaurants, bars and an excellent creperie, all overlooking the river.
Josselin is a charming medieval town with a beautiful 14th Century chateaux and gardens with informative guided tours. The attractive town square is full of pavement café's and restaurants and is the ideal place to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Canoes can be hired by the locks. Market Saturday.
Vannes a superb medieval town and port seeped in history, with narrow cobbled streets, ancient buildings, a cathedral, castle walls and lots of interesting 'good quality' shops and restaurants.(40minutes drive) Large markets on Saturday and Wednesday mornings in the centre of the town.
Carnac is famous for its standing stones and dolmens, it is also a lively and popular seaside resort with large sandy beaches. The old town is attractive and also worth a visit.
