Welcome to "Fleur de Lune", our Breton holiday home or Gîte in Merillac.
The house is situated in the centre of the village, 25 miles South-West of the ancient walled city of Dinan and the beautiful river Rance.

Within easy reach of the house you can find golf courses, lakes, rivers, fishing, sailing and forests for long peaceful walks. Brittany prides itself on the quality of its beaches and offers a rugged coast with clean sandy shorelines and clear blue waters, the beaches to the North coast are not too far away.
Brittany offers you everything you could ever want from a holiday, whether on the coast or the rich unspoilt countryside and tranquil charming villages, with cafes and traditional crêperies and restaurants.
We invite you to experience Brittany for yourself and enjoy your stay in our holiday home.
The village bar and convenience shop is opposite the house and open every day. There is a warm welcome here from Maryvonne.
The shop stocks basic foods and drinks, fresh bread and pastries, French newspapers etc.
The closest shopping area is the town of Merdrignac only a few miles away. In Merdrignac there is a large "Intermarche'" which has a good selection of groceries, wine, beer, household goods, with a fuel station.
In Broons there is a small "Ecomarche'" which is good for basic groceries but is fairly limited. There is also a "Super U" a much larger store offering a wide range of shopping. There are fuel stations at both these stores.
Further afield on the outskirts of Dinan are several very large supermarkets, "Champion" and "Leclerc" have a massive range of everything from basic shopping to household appliances including fuel. Both these stores are well sign posted as you approach Dinan from the direction of the house.
Almost everywhere except the very basic cafés accept U.K. credit cards. Some shops are closed on Sundays or Mondays and most are closed for lunch between 1200 - 1400 hours, this includes the fuel stations.
Tabac Shops can be found in all towns to purchase telephone cards.
Brittany has about one third of the French coastline, over 750 miles, which means there are lots of beaches and Ports, many of which have beautiful medieval architecture and castles.
Not to mention some of the finest sea food in the world!
Rural Brittany is never much more than an hours drive from the coast, and gives the added dimension of space, especially in the summer months when lots of people flock to the beaches. Brittany is much more heavily forested than the UK but also has vast open spaces.
Brittany really is a beautiful part of the France, with very little congestion on the roads. Brittany also abounds with some wonderful canals, lakes and rivers, some of which are reckoned to be the best fishing rivers in France.
There is an abundance of historical towns and castles in Brittany with breath taking scenes whether inland or around the coast.
