Situated in one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of Brittany.
A Charming 17th century Manoir recently renovated and stylishly decorated and furnished throughout with comfort and elegance in mind. Exclusive use of all amenities and facilities including 5 acres of private landscaped gardens including our large heated 10 x 5 metre enclosed swimming pool which features a terraced area complete with sun loungers.
This beautifully restored accommodation faces south and overlooks its own private courtyard with views of the swimming pool and surrounding trees beyond. The accommodation is suitable for families with young children through to teenagers or groups of friends looking for something a little bit special.
The manoir is furnished with comfort and elegance in mind, a mixture of local antique and modern furniture, making it a stylish and supremely comfortable home in which to unwind. It has been decorated throughout with a traditional French feel, and whilst it offers every modern convenience with everything you would expect to find in your own home including Wi-Fi internet access and UK Satellite TV (freeview), it boasts many original features such as exposed beams, stripped floorboards, terracotta tiled floors and an original open fire place with wood burning stove.
We also have plenty of facilities on site to keep everybody entertained including a snooker table and table tennis, bicycles, a childrens play area which includes a trampoline.

There are 5 acres of extensive private grounds surrounding the property with a large area of lawn ideal for families to picnic in or play sports. A variety of sporting equipment is available for the more active including several bicycles which you are welcome to borrow to explore the local area. There is a children’s play area with trampoline, swings, slides, climbing frame, living willow wigwam, football nets, sand pit and toddler’s rockers. One of the courtyard barns also has table tennis and a snooker table. The heated pool is open from May to September. It measures 10m x 5m, has roman steps for easy access in and out and has a depth of 1.5 m. It is securely fenced to comply with the French safety laws and surrounded with a patio area complete with sun loungers and cushions. The south facing courtyard in front of the Manoir has a barbecue with tables, chairs and parasols for al fresco dining. Lots of parking space within grounds.
Swimming pool open May - September.
No smoking inside the property or around the pool area but there is a smoking area provided outside.
Le Quillo
The Manoir is ideally placed for holidays in Brittany offering easy access to both north and south coasts.
The north Brittany coast close to St Brieuc is about 30 minutes by car where there are not just lovely sandy beaches but also fascinating rock pools for children to try their hand at crabbing! Or visit the west Brittany coast for surfing, and the south Brittany coast for glorious sandy beaches, both about an hour from our Manoir.
The Manoir is located within a 5 mins drive from the nearest town of Mur-de-Bretagne which has all the necessary amenities including banks, supermarkets, restaurants and shops and about 15-20 mins drive from the medieval tourist towns of Pontivy and Loudeac.
Pontivy is a large town with a beautiful chateau and old town quarter. Formerly named Napoleonville after his design of the new town, it has a beautiful setting on the Nantes-Brest canal and has everything you could possibly need for a days excursion. There are some lovely restaurants and very nice shops!
Our Manoir is only 8 kms from Lac de Guerledan where you can enjoy various water sports such as water ski-ing and swimming, or hire a motor boat, canoe, kayak, rowing boat, dinghy or pedalo, or enjoy a lake cruise, or take dinner one evening during the summer months on a floating restaurant. There are also some great places to eat and drink onshore and three small beaches which offer safe bathing for children.
The local area is ideal for bike riding with many small quiet country lanes to explore. Cycle along the tow path of the Nantes/ Brest canal or from Carhaix to Loudeac passing by Lac Guerlédan you can now cycle along the 111 kilometre long consolidated sand trail following the tracks of the old railway line.If you want to leave the track there are 24 round trips which vary in length from 4 ½ to 16 ½ km.
There are plenty of golf courses for the keen golfer. Golf de Rimaison at Pontivy is a 9 hole par 70. It has a good club house with refreshments available. The Ajoncs Dor is about 40 minutes drive away and is a 9 hole flat course, also there is a bueatiful course overlooking the sea at Val Andre.
Brittany's climate is very mild, winter temperatures seldom fall below freezing and snow is a rarity mainly due to the Gulf stream. Spring and summer are normally warm and sunny making Brittany the ideal holiday destination all year round. It has a warm temperate climate. It does rain sometimes, which is one of the reasons its countryside is so green and wooded, but it would be an unusual week if there was not more sun that cloud. It can get pretty hot in the summer months, up to about 35 degrees.
Unlike say the South Of France, summers are rarely scorching making Brittany the ideal place for activities such as cycling, walking and of course watersports.

Deposit/Booking Notes: For Christmas and New year Bookings the Manoir will be traditionally decorated, which (along with the feature fire place and wood burning stove roaring away) will create a wonderful festive setting.
