Here at Gites de Papillon we offer the perfect holiday homes for your stay in Brittany.
Full of original features and character, each of our gites has its own entrance and is newly refurbished to a high standard. Our aim is to provide all the comforts of home in truly French surroundings. We pride ourselves on our welcoming, friendly, family atmosphere. Each gite can be rented individually but, as they are both interlinked by a double door, they are ideal for booking together for the larger family or two families wanting to book together.
The Monarch gite has an open plan kitchen/living room design and a down stairs shower room with 2 bedrooms a double and a twin room upstairs. The Emperor gite has a separate kitchen/diner and lounge with 2 bedrooms and shower room upstairs.
The large garden is equipped with barbecue and garden furniture for your use. The garden is fully enclosed and safe. The pool terrace and play area in full view from the seating area. So you can relax in the knowledge that your children are happy and able to have the freedom of the garden and all the many toys available including a play ,area with a 14ft. trampoline, swings, basket ball net, play house, sand-pit, balls and giant Jenga. We have a fully enclosed terraced pool area furnished with sun loungers. With a depth of 1.2m the pool is ideal for both younger children and adults. Also for the over 16's there is a Spa pool which can be used and with a temperture of 39deg. C it is the perfect way to unwind.
Our latest venture is our miniature farm which allows you and your children to watch our animals play and be fed in their free range enclosure. We have two Kunekune pigs Flash and Petal, they are relatively small but have big personalities. We have mini goats Tilly and Milly and her babies Noisette and Nougatine, a Shetland pony named Rapsodie and a larger poney, Europe. Our newest additions are our Ouessant sheep, Loieza and Max. Plus our chickens who lay wonderfully tasty eggs and if they oblige you can try them fresh for breakfast.
Locally there is many interesting places to visit and within an hours drive you can find fantastic places including coastlines to die for and many activities to keep young ones entertained.
In the middle of Brittany, set amidst the green and picturesque countryside of the Pays d'Argoat, lies the town of Callac with its market square, church, bars, restaurants, creperies and traditional gift shops. Gites de Papillon are approximately 5minutes drive from Callac centre.
The lively Wednesday morning market attracts farmers, artisans and visitors from across the region.
Callac is known as the "green place to holiday" and its main feature is Le Lac de la Vallée Verte, a magnificent lake surrounded by unspoiled woodlands.
The lake is mainly used for fishing and is a regular venue for competitions throughout the year. Well maintained nature trails run through the surrounding woods and nearby there are facilities for mini-golf, basketball, roller-blading and tennis.
The Gorges du Corong, 15 minutes drive from Callac, is a place of outstanding natural beauty that should not be missed. Walk through a wooded valley where glacial rocks have been sculpted by the forces of nature over the millenia. In the valley centre, the river bed is completely covered with granite boulders beneath which the water cascades. This is a perfect location for a walk and a picnic and, if you are lucky, you may even see otters swimming in the pure, clean waters of the gorge.

Towels can be hired @ 5 Euros p/p per week.
A laundry service provided (wash and dry) @ 5 Euros per load.
