Welcome To La Metairie (Just For Two) - Blavet Valley, Morbihan
La Metairie is part of what was originally an old cider farm and is set in 3.5 acres of lovely gardens and woodland with a small ornamental lake.
All our gites are attached to the main farmhouse and overlook the orchard. The emphasis here is on peace and tranquility making it the ideal place to rest and relax.
Our guests are free to use the gardens as they wish for dining and leisure activities and we provide plenty of garden furniture for this purpose. Please note that as our setting is very rural it is essential to have transport.
La Metairie is for adults only and each of our three gites accommodate 2 people. We do not accept children or babies and do not have any facilities for them.
The Local Area
We are in the Blavet Valley which is known as an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many lovely walks and tourist attractions with in easy driving distance. We are close to the historic towns of Pontivy, Josselin and Vannes and The Golfe du Morbihan and beaches of the south coast are approximately 45kms.
The local town of Melrand is approximately 3kms with pharmacy, baker, post office, bar tabac, small supermarket, hairdresser and excellent restaurant. The pretty town of St Nicholas des Eaux on the river Blavet is also very close and a lovely place for a stroll or a meal at one of the restaurants. Cycle hire is also available here and there are numerous cycle paths along the river.
OUR PROPERTIES
The Coach House - Formed from what was originally one of the old farm buildings, the Coach House is a romantically decorated, spacious apartment-style gite with high beamed ceilings.
It is beautifully furnished with king size 4-poster bed, painted furniture, comfy sofa and good-sized cooking/dining area which overlooks the garden. This gite has proved very popular with honeymooners or those wanting a romantic break!
The Coach House is on the ground floor overlooking the orchard making it suitable for anyone with a slight disability although there is no wheelchair access to the shower room.
The Gallery - The Gallery is immediately above the Coach House and accessed by a wooden staircase. This is the most private of our gites and has a small balcony overlooking the orchard.
Again, it is apartment-style but benefits from a separate kitchen and good sized bathroom with walk-in shower cubicle. It has a pretty french-style double bed and oriental furniture, comfortable wicker armchairs, coffee table and a small bistro table and chairs for dining.
Cherries - Cherries is a pretty little gite with split level accommodation. The light and airy bedroom has a double bed with pine furniture and downstairs there is a living/dining/kitchen area and shower room with walk in cubicle.
The living area contains a sofa, occasional table and bistro table and chairs. There is also a small private area with table, chairs and parasol to the side of the property. We do accept pets in Cherries subject to our terms and conditions.
Services
All linen, towels, tea towels, garden towels and services are included in the price.
All gites are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, bedside lamps, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, toaster, fridge and either gas or electric oven and electric heating. In the garden we provide gas and charcoal barbeques, tables & chairs, parasols, sun-loungers and hammock.
We also provide under-cover parking in our hangar which can also be used for drying your washing!
We have a separate laundry room which guests are free to use and also offer holistic and beauty therapies from our on-site treatment room. We have a good selection of DVDs, games and books and all gites are provided with a cd player or stereo system. For those not bringing a laptop we also have a small tv which can be used for watching DVDs.
