This is a small, economical and impeccably clean gite and was once a fisherman's cottage. It is within walking distance or a short drive to shops, the town center and several marvelous beaches.
The Region
Audierne, located on a sheltered bay, is still actively involved in the fishing industry and its restaurants abound with the finest fresh fish in all of France.
The coastline and beaches are among the most beautiful anywhere and boast world-class surfing, large family beaches, and small secluded coves and outlets awaiting discovery.
You will also enjoy visiting the many charming and historical towns nearby and marvel at the ancient Celtic standing stones which pepper the landscape.
The local cuisine centers around local produce, seafood, cheese, hard cider and charcuterie all of which is plentiful at the bi-weekly farmers' market.
Amenities
Our English-speaking property managers are always available to answer questions, assist and give recommendations on things to do and see in the area.
The closest beach and the town center, are a twenty-five-minute walk (for those active types) or a five-minute drive away. There are several other marvelous beaches in the area.
Though the cottage does not have its own garden, it is so close to the beach that we never miss it.
There is street parking for one car and electric heating. We provide all towels and linens. There is constant hot water.
Bedrooms - The bedrooms are sunny and decorated with lace curtains at the blue-shuttered windows. There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The main bedroom contains a queen bed. The second bedroom on this floor is very small and contains a single/twin bed. The top-floor bedroom contains two single/twin beds and is well-lit by a sloping skylight.
Kitchen - The small galley kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for a self-catering holiday. There is seating for 4-6 at the table adjacent to the kitchen.
The Lounge - The lounge contains a comfortable sofa-bed an armchair as well as the dining seating. This area shares the dining table which seats 4-6. A television and DVD player are available; please ask our property managers.
Bathrooms - On the ground floor is a bathroom with shower and tub as well as a separate WC. We provide all linens and towels. There is an additional WC on the first floor landing.
Beaches
Our region derives its beauty from its spectacular ocean-fronting cliffs, headlands and beaches where you can enjoy near solitude or family fun on sheltered beaches even during the summer.
There are three beaches closest to the cottage; Poulgoazec, simple beach in easy walking distance; Kersiny, a long broad beach a 25-minute walk, or 5-minute drive and Ste. Evette, a third family beach across the bridge and past the quai in town.
The Town of Audierne
Audierne is a fishing village lying on a sheltered bay. Still not a major tourist destination, it is an ideal place to witness an unspoilt Brittany port. Its restaurants are full of France’s freshest fish, or bring fresh sea food back to the gite directly from the wharfside, the farmers' market or from the marvelous fish market.
Along the harbour stretches the town's main shopping area with its cafés, bars and restaurants, crêperies, boutiques, the town hall, the tourism office, and a movie theatre.
There is bi-weekly farmers' market, where you can find all the best local specialties.
From the town centre, the road continues just over 1km to the long, curving, sheltered beach of Ste-Evette. Other beaches are even closer to the holiday cottage. Hiking paths hug the coastline for miles.

Pricing and availability...
Gas & Electricity costs are included from beginning of June until the end of September. Between October and the end of May prices are an additional 50 euros per week to cover increased utility costs.
Cleaning is included for stays of more than seven nights.
